Dr. Becca is a Veterinarian in North Carolina that treats dogs, cats, and exotic pet species. She tells her staff if it can fit through the door then she is willing to try to help-no matter the species! She has a passion for surgery, medicine, palliative care, client education, behavioral medicine in pets, and loves science. Dr. Becca has an extensive background in research- with over 8 years’ experience in academic research and research consulting. This has primarily involved laboratory management, and assay and protocol development and optimization.

Majority of her research experience has involved helping pets with chronic diseases such as kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, and asthma. Her most recent research consulting project involved nanotechnology and engineering – helping optimize protocols and assays for a company specializing point-of-care diagnostics. She has presented her research at conferences including ACVIM, ASM, and has manuscript publication in Veterinary Medicine and Science.

Dr. Becca loves building things, learning to play new musical instruments (her newest one being an alto saxophone), and vegetable gardening. Though her favorite past-time is relaxing with her wife and their zoo (three dogs, an amazon parrot, and two geckos) at home.
